The long tradition of using limestone Reval and its popularity is confirmed by the fact that large projects using this stone have been created from the 13th<\/sup> century (Tallinn\u2019s fortifications and houses of Tallinn old town) and until today (Kumu art museum).<\/p>\n

It has been used as a good building stone for centuries in the old towns of Tallinn and St Petersburg and it’s still popular.<\/p>\n

In the Scandinavian market, the names Lindholmen and Estlandia Kalksten are also used for this stone.<\/p>\n

The slip resistance of honed limestone Reval is as follows: 55.7 for dry surface and 35.6 for wet surface. The dry surface value corresponds to rating P5 (R13) and the wet surface value corresponds to P3 (R11). The ratings P5\/R13 indicate greatest level of slip resistance and very low risk of slip. The ratings P3\/R11 indicate moderate risk of slip. Tests were performed in the Stone Pole Oy laboratory in Finland.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

Limestone from Tallinn (historically known as Reval) is the best-known Estonian limestone which may be up to 500 million years old. It has been used as a good building stone for centuries and it’s still popular. This limestone’s main tone is gray and it is not sorted by colour or tone. Here<\/strong><\/a><\/span> you can read more about this stone which has been used at least since the 13th<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n

The thickness of these floor tiles is 10 mm (for 60 \u00d7 60 cm tiles 15 mm).<\/p>\n

Limestone Reval is also available with antique surface finish<\/strong><\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n

You can also order skirting stones<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, window sills<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, and countertops<\/strong><\/a><\/span> made of the same material.<\/p>\n
